Current Vacancies at Broadstreet House
Support Worker
Responsible to: Registered Manager
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week including weekends and Bank Holidays (Part-time opportunities may also be available, please contact to enquire).
We are Broadstreet House, a residential home, supporting 18 adults with learning disabilities and autism. We are recruiting for our well-established team of dedicated and passionate support workers. Broadstreet is a Georgian house in Lyminge, set within 2.5 acres of beautiful grounds, with views over the surrounding countryside and with an outgoing and fun community spirit!
Our main priority for the support worker roles is finding people with the right attitude and values to match our own! You do not need to have previous experience in this field, nor do you need qualifications to get started – we are happy to work with you to help you become an excellent care worker. Full training is provided, and we support further development opportunities such as NVQ social care qualifications. We have both full and part-time positions available. Our staff go out of their way to deliver the very best level of care to the residents, treating them with dignity and respect. Each person is an individual with specific challenges, goals, and aspirations. Our aim, always, is to empower each person to achieve their potential.
Working in social care is hugely rewarding and a role which has come into its’ own since the pandemic. That time was unprecedented and impacted on everyone in the Broadstreet community; the residents, their families, and the staff. But we are incredibly proud that through our diligence and exemplary care, we kept the residents as safe as possible. Not only that, but by adapting our service substantially to offer unique engagement activities, education, and exercise alongside our regular support with personal care, nutrition, and daily living skills, we galvanised the community further still and the residents flourished. We even created our own on-site shop during the pandemic, which residents named The Shed!
We are looking for individuals who share the values which are so important to us:
- A commitment to quality and being the best we can, every day.
- Providing excellent care and support to all our residents.
- Showing dignity and respect to the people we work with
- Working well together as part of our team.
The duties are varied, and no two days are the same – as our residents are individuals, they all deserve to be treated as such and their care is always tailored to meet their needs. Duties may include supporting residents with personal care, domestic cleaning, shopping, administering medication, as well as helping to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing. These activities include arts and crafts, sports, drama, media, music and movement, gardening, and social occasions.
Full-time posts are 37.5 hours per week, with 5 shifts of 7.5 hours on a rolling rota. This includes early and late shifts during the week, weekends and Bank Holidays. Long days may also be required, these will be discussed and agreed in advance.
Part-time hours may be available and may involve 1-2-1 working, with early and late shifts during the week, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Benefits include ample on-site parking and meals on duty. We offer workplace pension and life insurance.
We look forward to hearing from you!
