Our Residents
Our home consists of 18 ensuite bedrooms where residents choose their own decor and furnishings to suit their taste and individuality. They also share a number of common rooms where they socialise, have their meals and interact through daily activities.
Our residents attend the Fifth Trust Work Centre and Vineyard two days a week where each resident participates in a range of activities and opportunities. Their individual programmes are designed specifically for their needs, preferences and abilities enabling them to learn a variety of skills to enhance their confidence and self esteem. Here they interact with residents from neighbouring residential homes and other external students to broaden their social network. The skills on offer at the Work Centre include horticulture, pottery, woodwork, art and media. A further two days a week are spent on enriching engagement activities at Broadstreet House and within the grounds; music and movement, singing, arts and crafts sessions, gardening and tending to the plentiful fruits and vegetables in the polytunnel.
Aside from holiday breaks away with their families, each year the residents get to choose and go on a holiday with their Broadstreet friends. Other calendar events in the year include birthday parties, family and sibling luncheons, a summer garden party and Christmas festivities.
